A few years ago, Porsche introduced the Boxster Spyder, a lightweight hardcore version of their entry level roadster with a tent for a roof. People loved it. And now meet the 2016 Porsche Boxster Spyder. It’s lighter than the regular Boxster, coming in at 2,900 pounds, and it’s also taken this opportunity to add a healthy helping of horsepower. In race car fashion, the wheel is remarkably close to the gear shifter. Cars destined for the race track don’t have air conditioning or audio systems and neither does the Spyder. The minimalist interior melds perfectly with the Spyder’s exterior which is complete with 20″ wheels and a spoiler that deploys at 75 mph. Making this the most powerful Boxster ever is a mid engine 3.8l V-6, delivering 375 hp to the rear wheels. A 6spd manual is your only option. Top speed: 180mph. Available later this year.
