Malaysian artist/architect Hong Yi created a series of fun illustrations made with common food. Her parameters were simple: the image had to be comprised entirely of food and the only backdrop could be a white plate. With that in mind Yi set out to create landscapes, animals, homages to pop culture, and even a multi-frame telling of the three little pigs. Check out some illustrations from her 31 days of creativity in the month of March!
Creativity with Food Series by Hong Yi
Picturesque Foodscapes by Carl Warner
At first glance, the following images look like painted landscapes, including towering hills, picturesque houses and stormy sea in the background. But if you look more closely you will see that the stormy sea was made of cabbage, trees are broccoli or celery and the hills are freshly baked bread. These aren’t paintings but true photos! And everything you can see in the photo is made of real food! Pictures were created by London photographer Carl Warner who made specialty of these food landscapes or how I like to call them “foodscapes”. In recent years he has been commissioned by many advertising agencies throughout Europe to produce his distinctive images for clients in the food industry. Facebook Ice Cream – “Facecreame”
Croatian designer Tomislav Zvonarić well known for his creative Facebook bed recently created a design concept of Facebook ice cream and called it Facecream. Just in time for summer comes a tasty design concept for tech fans. Tomislav says “I wanted to make something for the hot summer days. It’s not real, but it’s a fun design.” It would be interesting to see what flavor options would be. But we hardly see it in stores. Though pretty interesting concept. Don’t you think?
