Sleek and Translucent Phone From Future

Sleek and Translucent Phone From Future

Seemingly taken out of a sci-fi movie, the Alo phone couldn’t be more different than current smartphones. It’s sleek and translucent, has a fluid, dynamic silhouette, an ergonomic shape that fits perfectly in the palm of a hand, as well as a mysterious lack of a screen or buttons. The concept phone was designed by Philippe Starck and Jerome Olivet for French brand Thomson. As a voice-activated gadget, it eliminates the need for buttons, which enhances its futuristic look further. The phone’s camera also acts as a projector that displays messages and videos as 3D holograms. And the innovations don’t stop there. The material is self-healing and provides haptic feedback, through heat and vibrations sent to the user. Starck and Olivet will develop an Alo-based prototype for the Thomson this year, but it may take a while before the phone reaches the market.
