Creative Gift Packaging for Marais Piano Cake

Take a look at the gorgeous packaging for Piano cakes by Kazuaki Kawahara which got A’Design Award this year. “Usually, gift boxes simply line up all the cakes neatly. However, our boxes of individually wrapped cakes are different. We cut costs by focusing on only one design, and in making use of all six surfaces, we were able to recreate every type of keyboard. Using this design, we can create any keyboard size, from small keyboards, to full 88-key grand pianos, and even larger. For example, for one octave of 13 keys, we use 8 cakes. Two octaves, or 25 keys, would be 15 cakes. Three octaves, or 37 keys, would be 22 cakes. And an 88-key grand piano would be a gift box of 52 cakes. The inspiration for this design, the piano, is an instrument that creates beautiful harmonies from the combination of each individual key’s sound. You could say that society is a lot like this as well. Like the keys of a piano, where no two keys have the same sound, we all have our own individuality, and like the keys of a piano, we are all different colors and creeds, and yet we come together under the same desire for world peace and equality, the happiness of our lovers, friends, family, coworkers, and customers, and of all the people in the world, to create a beautiful harmony. We know that you will be giving this gift to someone important to you, and you want to give them something that was made with care. We’ve made each and every one of our gift boxes with our customers needs in mind. A beautiful harmony is like a unique crystal, which can only be made when each of the keys’ individual sounds come together. With each key of this gift box, your feelings are sure to be heard.”

Creative Packaging Design For SPYTAIL Black Ginger Rum

Unleash a little bit of your inner explorer with SPYTAIL Black Ginger Rum. This Caribbean-inspired rum from France honors those who have ventured to the depths of the ocean with some incredibly impressive packaging. BR Zoom, Biggar & Leith, Stoelzle Glass, and Albagrafica Labels collaborated to develop a bottle and box that take the consumer on an underwater journey in a submarine. “Biggar & Leith, an Independent Family owned Spirits Merchant, today announced the launch of SPYTAIL™ Black Ginger Rum – a super-premium rum, imported from France. SPYTAIL™ is based on a 19th Century French recipe of ageing Caribbean Rum with fresh ginger and spices in the barrel. The rum is distilled in the Caribbean and then aged, spiced and blended at a small family distillery in the Cognac region of France. SPYTAIL™ celebrates the French deep-sea pioneers and the submarines within which they plunged to terrifying new depths. France has a long tradition of pioneering the oceans in both fact and fiction – from the world’s first mechanical submarine (it was called ‘Le Plongeur’ and was tested on the Charente River near the SPYTAIL™ distillery) to Jules Verne’s ‘20,000 Leagues Under the Sea’ and of course Jacques Cousteau’s numerous exploits and innovations. Today, France continues to be a pioneering force in the exploration of the earth’s last undiscovered frontier.” Elwyn Gladstone, founder of Biggar & Leith, mentioned “The heritage of SPYTAIL™, stand out packaging, French craftsmanship and expert rum blending have resulted in an exceptional product that brings something very exciting and new to the burgeoning super-premium rum category. Also, we’re seeing that ginger is becoming a seriously popular flavor among cocktail consumers – Moscow Mules, Dark & Stormy and premium ginger beer are all booming and we think that a delicious Black Ginger Rum is going to fit right in. We can’t wait to get SPYTAIL™ out to thirsty drinkers and look forward to shipping it to ports around the world.”

Luxury Packaging for Everyday Items

In an exhibition titled Wheat is Wheat is Wheat, designer Peddy Mergui wraps over a dozen basic food products – from fruits to coffee and salami – in high-end designers’ patterns and big brands’ famous packagings in order to elicit reactions based on brand recognition. Meet Apple’s iMilk, Prada’s flour, and Burberry’s butter. “High-end brands are not selling the products, they are selling the lifestyle,” Mergui tells The Verge by phone. But now, those brands are beginning to branch out, “extending products to a lot of fields that did not use to be there.” Mergui says that people who have seen his exhibit have had a strong response. “People really liked it,” he said. “I felt a bit confused. You’re just buying flour, or milk, or whatever – this is a basic thing.” Wheat is Wheat is Wheat is currently showing in San Francisco at the Museum of Craft and Design and will be there through June 15th.

Limited Edition Fedrigoni Leica

A piece of paper merges an extraordinary packaging concept and an exceptional product into one. Sold in Fedrigoni showrooms only, the limited Edition of Leica Cameras is wrapped so intimately by fine paper, the “unboxing” reminds of a paper sample book and turns into a Fedrigoni brand experience. Finally, the paper also replaces the cameras traditional leather banderole and becomes an integral part of it and not just its packaging. Designed by Geometry Global, Germany.

Absolut Tune Packaging Design

Today we want to show interesting packaging design from Absolut. Absolut Tune is a sparkling fusion of Absolut vodka and crisp white wine. This champagne like bottle has a very Tord Boontje-esque double layered, flowery pattern to it. The caged cork glass bottle has two layers of plastic on it – one with a gold on blue, and the top layer with a matte/pearly white lined with gold that peels back ever so dramatically. Have fun!

Stranger & Stranger Wine Packaging

Stranger & Stranger wine packaging delivers character and creative flair in a new series of wine label designs. These decorative paper sleeves wrap around wine bottles in a fashion inspired by prohibition-era packaging. Various ornate sleeves display a broad range of subjects spanning from quotes to recipes to vintage-style artwork. Unique packaging serves as a teaser for the consumer and lures them in to investigate what kind of wine is in the bottle beneath. Inspiration for Stranger & Stranger wrapping comes from Truett Hurst’s No.13 wine. Each package maintains a distinct and elegant design which inevitably catches a second-glance from fine wine shoppers.

Miller Boom Box

Take a look at the creative packaging of Miller beer. “To attract attention to and to make Miller the preferred brand among other six packs in the summer when beer consumption spikes. Miller is closely linked with music in Turkey. It has been organizing Miller Music Factory, a contest to discover fresh talents for six years and Miller Freshtival, a music festival, for two years now. This is why we have chosen music as a theme for our six pack. We have designed two sided boxes, one side looks like a speaker and the other is the cassette player. This way when three boxes are brought together side by side, they form a boom box.” Design was created by advertising agency Manajans/JWT, Istanbul, Turkey. Take a look!

Natural Zen Perfume

Designer Igor Mitin from Kazakhstan design agency GOOD created interesting packaging concepts for ZEN parfumes. He used elements from nature to create a unique shape for each bottle of perfume. “It is quiet natural scents that envelop you and immersed in the tranquility and peace. The basis for the concept of packages is the synthesis of natural form and shape of the bottle.”

Creative Packaging Design for Triangolo dell’Olio

Let us show you exellent example of creative packaging design. This unique box was created by Junko Kirimoto and contains three bottles of premium olive oil from Estate of Carma. “The box has the appearance of a great book (the cover having been inspired by the volume of an encyclopedia) and communicates how the production of extra-virgin olive oil in Italy is considered almost a cult, a concept that perfectly reflects the sophistication and the superior quality of products inside.”
