Paper Aviary at St James’s Market – Paper Birds Exhibition

Today we want to show you interesting project combining creative pavilion and beautiful paper birds by Estudio Guardabosques. “We are very happy to have been invited to exhibit our paper bird at St James London, in the United Kingdom. It’s a collaboration with the very talented DN&CO that took care of the whole project, and it features more than 100 birds that we specially designed for the occasion, stylized with iconic fashion patterns made by them. The Paper Aviary takes inspiration from Charles II’s exotic birdcage, which housed his collection of tropical birds during the 1600’s in the heart of St James’s Park. The exhibition nods to the style and craft heritage of St James’s. Each handcrafted bird displays plumage and patterns inspired by the fashion houses and craftsmen of the area. Houndstooth, checks and polka dots are taken from the fabric patterns of brands such as John Smedley, Turnbull & Asser and Aquascutum animating each paper bird. Enriching the experience further the exhibition features a curated soundtrack of birdsong. The exhibition will be open to the public free of charge from Feb 15th – May 2017.”

Paviljoen Puur at Fort Diemerdam
by Emma Architecten

Emma Architecten have completed a new visitors pavilion and cafe at Fort Diemerdam in Amsterdam. Paviljoen Puur is constructed over the plot of the old soldier’s shelter and the new plan was derived from the footprint of the original building. Architect Marten de Jong told Dezeen how the curves of the landscape inspired the undulating curves of the wooden walls, which angle in different directions so that in some places they face the ground and in others they point up towards the sky. Take a look!

Porsche Pavilion by HENN Architects

HENN Architects have completed the Porsche Pavilion at the Autostadt in Wolfsburg, Germany. “The organically shaped building is sitting – in mirrored location to the Volkswagen Pavilion- at the central axis of the theme park and offers 400 m² of space for exhibitions and presentations. Its characteristic silhouette will become a distinctive icon amid the lagoon landscape of the Autostadt. Curving lines and exciting bends make the Pavilion a dynamic yet reduced sculpture with its characteristics derived from the Porsche brand image.
