Urwerk’s Latest Titanium Watch – UR-105 CT Kryptonite

Luminosity is at the heart of Urwerk‘s latest creation, the UR-105 CT Kryptonite. The intense green light emitted from the hour markers is the reason for the suggestive “Kryptonite” name. The vivid phosphorescence of the numerals creates a fascinating contrast with the matt, AlTiN-coated titanium case whose size is 39.5 mm x 53 mm x 17.3 mm. The AlTiN (aluminium titanium nitride) coating provides exceptional oxidation resistance and extreme hardness.

One-of-a-kind Urwerk UR-210 Dubai

The UR-210 Dubai is a unique watch engraved by the expert hands of Florian Güllert. The artwork will be unveiled at the now established Dubai Watch Week hosted by Ahmed Seddiqi & sons, retailers. This one-of-a-kind UR-210 is themed on the spellbinding superlatives of Dubai, the maddening, yet tantalising megacity. For all its wealth and display, Dubai is also rich in sophisticated traditions. The cocktail of emotions stirred by the first experience of this breath-taking city is engraved forever in the metal of this timepiece. In the press release announcing the watch, co-founder of Urwerk, Felix Baumgartner shares about the first time he visited Dubai in 2007 and how fascinated he was by the paradox the city encapsulates. A city of extreme lavishness set with extreme aridity to its east and the Persian Gulf to its west. He describes the city as, “strong and often contradictory,” and it is this very characteristic that he wanted to imbue into the UR-210 he dedicated to the city. Which is why the intricate patterns and mosaic chosen to adorn the watch are those that are found on ancient middle-eastern places of worship and royal palaces. And the watch – UR-210 – is anything but ancient. And this watch can easily get into our list of the world’s most expensive watches.

Sleek Wristwatch Arpal One Inspired By 1930s Automobiles

Laurent Ferrier and Urwerk joined forces to create the Arpal One, a piece-unique (one-of-a-kind) watch that will be on sale at the Only Watch 2017 charity auction in order to help finance research on Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The Arpal One is essentially an Urwerk designed by Laurent Ferrier, so it has rotating satellite wandering hours display that’s an Urwerk signature, but the case is a sleek construction reminiscent sof classic cars; Ferrier himself was once a racing driver who took part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1979. The case was shaped from an exclusive alloy called ARPAL+, specifically developed for this unique watch. ARPAL+ consists of 75% precious metals and resists wear and scratches better than white gold or steel. Its colour never fades, nor does it oxidise. While the case is perfectly polished, the Urwerk’s movement is almost colourless. The four hours satellites are in a matt pearly grey with diamond-polished outlines while the hours and minutes markers are painted in white Super-LumiNova. The time is shown by four satellites, each bearing three hours numerals, which successively sweep past the track of minutes. This original and intuitive way of telling the time is aided by a cover in polyetheretherketone, a thermoplastic known as PEEK, which hides the satellites that are not engaged in indicating the time. The satellites turn on a hidden carousel, at the heart of the successive passage of the hours. Engineering the smooth and silent revolutions of a module that weighs 500 times as much as a conventional set of hands is one of the many challenges involved in the manufacturing of this movement. Beating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vph), the self winding UR5.03 is governed by a double turbine and offers a power reserve of 48 hours. The cabochon winding crown recalls the stripes of the satellite hours. The Arpal one is completed by a nice sand-coloured leather strap. The Arpal One will be sold at auction on November 11, 2017 at Christie’s in Geneva, alongside the four dozen other unique watches created for Only Watch 2017.

Spectacular Urwerk UR-105 ‘Raging Gold’

Founded back in 1995, Urwerk is one of the world’s most avant-garde independent watch brands. The brand’s new UR-105 “Raging Gold” is less of a milestone than what we’ve been used to by Urwerk, but it still features a gold bezel and looks totally awesome. The Urwerk UR-105 “Raging Gold” forgets all about a girl’s best friends and reminds us all about the immorality of gold, which complements this amazing timekeeping wonder. The large 4N red gold bezel has been engraved to create an intricate Clou de Paris pattern, while the rest of the case is made using a PVD-coated titanium. Just like the standard Urwerk UR-105, if we could call ever this incredible timepiece like that, the Racing Gold version is super light and it could easily handle 30-meter deep waters – just in case you like getting wet. The time is beautifully displayed on this watch using revolving satellites, which seems to be Urwerk’s calling card, that always manages to shock and awe everyone. For this new watch, the Swiss brand has also improved the UR 5.02 caliber within, with the impressive mechanism hidden from our eyes. But on the titanium case back, you will find the turbines that regulate the self-winding mechanism of the watch, while a 48-hour power reserve backs everything up. It might be worth mentioning that the Urwerk UR-105 “Raging Gold” is limited to just 22 units, each of which will be costing 67,000 CHF .

The rose gold model has a black satellites and minute track, and rose gold accents on the caseback. The all black model, is as its name suggests: all black. The UR 5.02 movement’s automatic winding is regulated by dual air turbines (visible on the caseback), and controlled via a winding rate control lever on the back. The movement runs at 4Hz and has a 48-hour power reserve. The RG model is paired with a black leather strap, and the other three with color coordinated nylon straps (leather lined). Water-resistance is 30 meters.

The Urwerk UR-110 Eastwood Watch

The Urwerk UR-110 is for the man who craves something unique on his wrist. The UR-110 continues URWERK’s offbeat tradition of telling time via orbiting satellite complications – the hours are shown in a series of rotating modules, while the minutes are displayed on the right side in a downward moving scale. The UR-110 also features a day/night indicator and service interval display on the front, while around back you’ll notice the automatic winding system regulated by dual turbines, and it’s all held together by a titanium case. The plan is for each watch to be delivered with three different strap materials, each of which will make the watch look very different.
