While small electric bikes have become increasingly commonplace, the landscape of today is vastly different than that of a decade ago. One outfit that was an early investor into this rapidly emerging space was Bosch, which is now celebrating the 10th anniversary of the bar-raising Bosch drive system – an item that has been adopted by countless eBike makers the world over – via the release of a new concept known as the “eBike Design Vision“.
The crux of the concept was to seamlessly integrate electric components into the two-wheelers overall design, foreshadowing what the German multinational firm believes represents the future of eBike design. As such, the concept boasts a carbon fiber frame with integrated suspension front and aft, with the drive system neatly integrated into the frame and handlebars and a Powertube 625 battery housed the down-tube. The battery cover also extends down to partially cover the drive unit, allowing for an overall more cohesive appearance. There’s also LED bike lights and disc brakes front and back, a Nyon onboard computer, integrated color display, internally-routed cables throughout, and an integrated front luggage rack that conceals the concept’s ABS module.
