Strand Craft have built what could arguably be called the Rolls-Royce of light water transport – V8 Wet Rod. Featuring a customizable construction made from carbon fiber and epoxy, you can optionally add wood and carbon inlays, custom paint and wrapping, and more. Combine this with a ferocious 5.7-liter V8-engine capable of 300 bhp and speeds of up to 65 mph, and you get some idea of just how fast it cuts through the waves. Kurt Strand, the owner of StrandCraft, believes that one of the most important qualities to designing yacht and watercraft, along with creativity, is the ability to be able to listen to what the client wants. A project only begins once the company has a clear understanding that the client is the most important aspect and that they should be involved from the initial concept. Wet Rod should be commercially available later this year, with prices starting at $49,000.
