To commemorate the 60th anniversary of Goldfinger , Fabergé has unveiled a remarkable limited-edition objet that fuses the brand’s storied craftsmanship with the enduring legacy of James Bond. The Fabergé x 007 Goldfinger Egg Objet is a meticulously engineered piece made from 18k yellow gold, designed in tribute to the Fort Knox gold depository central to the film’s plot. Only 50 of these exclusive eggs will be produced worldwide, making it not only a symbol of artistic excellence but also an object of considerable rarity.
At the heart of the design is a six-prong safe combination lock, prominently branded with the 007 logo. When the lock is rotated counterclockwise, it activates two mechanical bolts that allow the front of the egg to open, revealing a miniature gold safe inside. Within this inner chamber rests a stack of gold bars, surrounded by 140 brilliant-cut yellow diamonds, paying homage to the film’s famous obsession with gold and luxury. This level of mechanical precision within such a small form factor represents a first for Fabergé, requiring months of development to perfect.
The egg is mounted on an 18k white gold stem set with 16 round brilliant-cut white diamonds and anchored to a polished base carved from black nephrite jadeite. The entire structure is engineered not only for elegance but also for durability and function. Measuring approximately 100 millimeters in height, the object balances bold aesthetic presence with refined technical execution.
This collaboration between Fabergé and the 007 franchise reflects a shared heritage of sophistication, innovation, and attention to detail. Creative leadership for the piece came from Liisa Tallgren, Head of Design at Fabergé, under the direction of Creative Director Josina von dem Bussche-Kessell. The Fabergé x 007 Goldfinger Egg Objet is available for pre-order, with each piece requiring an estimated 12-week lead time due to the precision involved in its production. Priced at approximately £162,500 or $221,000 USD, it is positioned as a high-value collectible for discerning buyers. Its release follows previous collaborative pieces such as the Goldfinger Egg Locket, but raises the bar with its intricate mechanics and narrative depth.
