Hybrid Animal and Wildlife Murals Created by Alexis Diaz

Puerto Rican artist Alexis Diaz brings textures and patterns reminiscent of traditional engraving techniques to his murals of phantasmagorical creatures using only a paintbrush. Twisting tentacles, strange fusions of anatomy, beings wrapped in plants, all rendered atop colorful gradients create an unmistakable style Diaz has become famous for.

Playful Murals by Swiss Artist Wes21

With a keen sense of humor and superb control of a spray can, Swiss artist Remo Lienhard (aka Wes21) covers both walls and canvases with his playful sythesis of science fiction and the natural world. The artist imagines a hybrid spaceship ladybug as it blasts into the sky and pair of airborne lighthouses are revealed to be the bodies of ominous looking squid. Lienhard works in a variety of mediums from smaller acrylic and spray pieces on canvas to larger murals that often make use of surrounding objects.

Playful Murals by Mehdi Ghadyanloo and Blue Sky Painters

Iranian artist and designer Mehdi Ghadyanloo is brightening up the city of Tehran one wall at a time. With the blessing of the municipality, Ghadyanloo and his mural-painting company Blue Sky Painters transform blank, gray walls into amazing large-scale works of art. The colorful scenes are often quite surreal in nature, depicting extraordinary sights such as a man bicycling down a straight wall, cars zooming across the sky, and people walking upside-down on the ceiling. Many of the murals also interact with the surrounding urban environment; in one, raindrops appear to fall from cloud onto the real tree standing beneath the painting; in another, an actual apartment building appears to fold accordion-style in a bizarre architectural twist. Ghadyanloo’s imaginative scenes, use of color, and skill at blending the murals into their existing environments all make for incredibly striking additions to the bustling streets of Tehran. The artist, who has painted over 100 murals so far, says he hopes “to bring some cohesion or at least colour to the often confused and smog-smeared architectural face of the city.”

Limited Edition Alix Sofa by Tilt

Internationally renowned French graffiti artist Tilt has collaborated with Amaze workshops to create an incredible and somewhat unexpected new piece of work. Alix , his personal reimagination of a sofa , is an iconic and boundary pushing piece of bold design. Tilt has created a covetable item that combines statement style and quality, whilst pushing boundaries to provide an evolutionary contribution to design led functional furniture. The bold monochrome palette enhances the equally striking contrast of the padded leather with a clean wooden framework. From behind, the sofa looks like another brilliant piece of Tilt’s signature traditional graffiti artwork , but once seen from the other side, it transforms into a luxury piece of furniture, with an inviting erotic edge. Created in France, master craftsmen worked tirelessly over 752 hours to make Tilt ‘s incredible creativity and imagination a reality; suffice it to say, the whole project was undeniably worth every second.
