Artists Fill Tables’ Cracks With Sea Shells, Stones And Starfish

Tables made from raw lumber, while beautiful, often have little natural imperfections that need to be filled up or removed. Woodcraft By Design, a creative woodworking studio in Auckland, New Zealand, solves this problem by filling those holes with crystal-clear inlays that let you see the shells, stones, leaves or even bugs embedded within. Inlays like this are often created using clear resin, which dries hard and durable. This material has loads of fascinating applications one tinkerer used it to turn his table into a beautiful glow-in-the-dark work of art!

Creative “Fusion Tables” by Matthew Robinson

These creative tables called “Fusion Tables” were created by Matthew Robinson for his final project while studying furniture making at the Leeds College of Art in England. “Solid wood tables manufactured by hand in American Walnut and Maple. Ballet-Inspired Giselle Lounge Table

Russian designer Anna Neklesa under impression from the Russian ballet dancers has created the Giselle low lounge table. The table top is made of steel or powder-coated aluminum and the legs are made of painted oak wood. Artistic Volna Table by Nüvist

This sculptural and artistic Volna Table was created by Turkish design firm Nüvist. “It was very important to create soft and serene experience in the tangible and the visual sense for this type of table design. The new technologies and the modern materials were the main ingredients for the creation and these provide us to design an unbroken continious form. In this way, Volna Table has met both the functionality and a unique elegance look and it has been shaped like a wave and features an incessant flow.” Take a look!

Fontable – Alphanumeric Tables Collection

New collection of alphanumeric metal tables called “Fontable” and created by designers Alessandro Canepa & Andrea Paulicelli brings a revolution to the world of furnishing accessories. “Fontable” are alphanumeric elements reproducing letters from A to Z in lower and upper case and numbers from 0 to 9 which become modular tables. Each element acquires three dimensions and personality and can be played around with, to customize ever changing and dynamic shapes. Produced in a small atelier outside of Milan under the supervision of Alessandro & Andrea the tables are made from steel sheet with lacquered varnishing in white, black and red. Legs are in anodized aluminum and are height adjustable, allowing overlap of table surfaces.
