Louis Vuitton has once again transformed everyday luxury into a collectible work of art. Together with Los Angeles artist Alex Israel, the fashion house has created the Woody Wagon Colognes , a handcrafted miniature station wagon that houses the complete Louis Vuitton Parfums de Cologne collection.
Known for his colorful interpretations of California culture, Alex Israel has spent years capturing the spirit of Los Angeles through familiar symbols such as sunsets, palm trees, and surfboards. Since 2019, he has collaborated with Louis Vuitton master perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud to translate that relaxed West Coast atmosphere into fragrance.
The latest creation brings that vision into physical form. Inspired by the classic wood-paneled family wagons associated with American road trips, the Woody Wagon is a tiny handcrafted vehicle designed as both a fragrance case and a collector’s object. Only 66 examples have been produced, a reference to the legendary Route 66 highway that has become a symbol of freedom and adventure.
Creating each wagon required more than 7,000 hours of work from over 60 artisans. The model consists of 219 individual parts, including mahogany wood panels, Monogram-engraved doors, wheels decorated with Louis Vuitton’s signature flower motif, and details finished in semi-aged natural beige leather.
Inside the miniature vehicle are six fragrances from the Louis Vuitton Cologne collection: Afternoon Swim, Pacific Chill, Sun Song, California Dream, City of Stars, and On the Beach. Each scent represents a different part of the California lifestyle, from ocean breezes and sunny beaches to the energy of Los Angeles nights.
The design captures the fantasy of a perfect coastal journey: a surfboard attached to the roof, friends or family inside the car, and an endless road leading toward the Pacific Ocean. More than a fragrance holder, the Woody Wagon is a nostalgic celebration of travel, creativity, and the effortless California spirit that has inspired Alex Israel throughout his career.
By combining fine craftsmanship, contemporary art, and luxury fragrance, Louis Vuitton turns a simple collection of colognes into a piece of automotive-inspired storytelling — a miniature road trip that can sit on a shelf.
