Heritage Reimagined in Bentley’s EXP 15

Heritage Reimagined in Bentley's EXP 15

Bentley’s EXP 15 Concept signals a daring leap into the brand’s electric future while paying homage to its storied past. Inspired by the legendary 1930 Speed Six “Blue Train,” this concept car blends classic proportions with modern innovation. It stretches over 5.4 meters, with an upright grille, an endless bonnet, and a cabin that slopes gracefully toward the rear. The design hints at Bentley’s first fully electric production car, expected in 2026, while clearly reaffirming the company’s unmistakable DNA.

One of the most intriguing elements is the interior layout. The EXP 15 is a three-door, three-seat vehicle, deliberately removing the traditional front passenger seat to create a large, easily accessible storage area. The single passenger seat can even swivel outward for effortless entry, while the rear features deployable luxury seating and a clever floor storage system. The cabin materials push Bentley’s luxury ethos forward with 100% wool, silk jacquard, and even 3D-printed titanium. Back-lit veneers and intricate craftsmanship give it an almost futuristic warmth without abandoning the tactile feel of traditional luxury.

The dashboard showcases Bentley’s “Magical Fusion” philosophy, where digital screens are seamlessly integrated with physical elements. At first glance, you see elegant wood veneer panels, but hidden beneath are displays that appear only when needed. A clock-like “Mechanical Marvel” sits at the heart of the dashboard, with illuminated fingers delicately showing details like state of charge and direction. This blend of analog beauty and cutting-edge digital design perfectly reflects Bentley’s vision of future interiors.

On the outside, the car’s design principles become clear. It has a posture that feels simultaneously upright and athletic, as though it’s resting with quiet strength. The rear design is shield-like, reminiscent of vintage luggage carriers, while the iconic Bentley grille gets a sharper, more modern interpretation. To complete the transformation, Bentley has reimagined its Winged B emblem. This updated logo, inspired by the peregrine falcon, channels the spirit of the original 1919 design while making a bold statement for the brand’s electric era.

Although Bentley has no plans to put the EXP 15 directly into production, it’s more than a showpiece. It serves as a manifesto for the company’s upcoming design language and technology. It shows how grand-touring heritage can coexist with a sustainable electric future, where craftsmanship and innovation are equal partners. From its dramatic proportions to its forward-thinking interior, the EXP 15 isn’t just a glimpse into Bentley’s next car – it’s a preview of an entirely new chapter for the brand.
