The Massachusetts-based firm Terrafugia has announced its Transition design, which is part sedan, part private jet with two seats, four wheels and wings that fold up so it can be driven like a car, will be on sale in less than two years. They have also unveiled plans for a TF-X model that will be small enough to fit in a garage, and won’t need a runway to take off. Motorised rotors attached to the wings of the TF-X make it possible to take off from standing still. This means cars could switch from driving to flying when they encounter traffic. However, the wingspan requires a diameter of 100 feet to do so. Take a look!

Porsche 550 Spyder Photos by Addictive
Today we want to show you great digital photographies made by London based post-production studio Addictive. “When you spend all that time creating one really detailed 3d model, it only seemed logical to create a series. This time we wanted to explore closeups and use depth of field and bokeh effects.” Have fun! Renault Twizy Sport F1 Electric Concept
Renault represented their latest concept – the Twizy Sport F1 – which was designed to crank up the performance of your average electric car with its kinetic energy recovery system (KERS), similar to that used in its formula 1 race cars. The result is six times the power output — almost 100 horsepower — which pushes the car from 0-62 in the same time as the Renault Mégane Renaultsport 265. As for the exterior, the futuristic Twizy looks like a curious mix between a smart car, lunar rover, and bobcat construction vehicle and features a front splitter, side-pods, rear wing, and a diffuser with an F1-style rain light. This light is controlled with a colorful gamepad-like steering wheel on the inside, which also controls the KERS, radio and rain light. This concept most likely will never be released so enjoy the pictures! Lamborghini Pregunta on Sale for $2.1M
The Lamborghini Pregunta, which made its debut at the 1998 Paris Auto Show, is now up for sale for 1.6 million euros, or $2.1 million. It was acquired by Autodrome, a French specialist in vintage exotics. The Pregunta was an aerospace-influenced supercar with carbon fiber bodywork, a 530-horsepower V12 and a claimed 207-mile-per-hour top speed. It employed rear-wheel drive instead of the Diablo’s all-wheel drive, was coated in the same paint used on the French military’s Dassault Rafale fighter jet and had fiber optic lighting, rear-view cameras and a GPS system. It was shown to the world at the 1998 Paris Motor Show, and again at the 1999 Geneva Motor Show. You can watch it hit the runway with a Rafale in the video below, then give AutoDrome a call if you’re interested. T-REX 16S by Campagna Motors

We’ve often heard of the weird ways astronauts have to eat while in outer space. Nourishment is essential to human survival to the point even rather unappealing dehydrated meals are an invaluable companion for a space adventure. But in order to protect astronauts’ lives and accomplish a space mission, there are plenty more details that NASA has to take care of. Among them, one is often overlooked but vital to say the least. We’re talking about astronaut seats, which at the American space agency enjoy the attentions of a dedicated team of engineers and designers. Such seats have to resist enormous 3G pressure and support the astronauts body adequately, yet their weight needs to be kept as low as possible. While not many official details about NASA seats have been made available, their concept is based upon lightness, adjustability and endurance. If the importance of seats is not marginal for a space mission, the impact of a good posture and comfortable seating on our daily life shouldn’t be underestimate, either. A unique case is the automotive world, where fatigue through long journeys can impact the driver’s safety and eventually lead to fatal accidents caused by exhaustion. In this respect, it is very interesting to see how one of the world’s top carmakers, Nissan, has made NASA-inspired “zero-gravity” seats both a main feature and selling point of its new Nissan Altima. Flanking the similarly priced new Nissan Sentra in Dubai, this car is going to follow the company’s philosophy of affordable luxury and comfort.
