Bugatti has never treated its one-off commissions as simple exercises in personalization. Through its Sur Mesure program, the French automaker continues to transform its hypercars into unique works of art, combining cutting-edge engineering with extraordinary craftsmanship. The latest example is the W16 Mistral Blanc Éternel , a one-of-one creation that celebrates both Bugatti’s iconic W16 engine and its long-standing partnership with Germany’s Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin (KPM).
The collaboration marks a return to a relationship that first produced the Veyron Grand Sport L’Or Blanc in 2011, but this latest project takes a completely different artistic direction. Instead of the flowing blue porcelain artwork that defined its predecessor, the Blanc Éternel embraces a modern design language inspired by the digital modeling process used to create Bugatti’s latest hypercars.
Finished in Brilliant White, the roadster is covered with intricate black graphics that resemble the wireframe of a 3D CAD model. Rather than acting as decorative stripes, the hand-painted lines reveal the geometry hidden beneath the car’s sculpted bodywork, creating an effect that changes as light moves across the surface. Every section was carefully masked and painted by hand, highlighting the remarkable amount of craftsmanship behind the design.
Porcelain remains one of the defining features of the project. Handcrafted by KPM artisans, it appears throughout the car, including the iconic EB badge, the fuel and oil filler caps, the gear selector, window switches, speaker grilles, center console, and engine cover inserts. The cabin also features a porcelain version of Rembrandt Bugatti’s famous Dancing Elephant sculpture, paying tribute to the artistic heritage shared by both brands. Because porcelain shrinks during the firing process, every component required precise engineering to achieve a perfect fit.
The interior continues the exterior’s distinctive theme with white leather trimmed by the same hand-painted black pattern. To make this possible, Bugatti developed a new technique that allows paint to permanently bond with leather while remaining durable enough for everyday use, preserving both the artwork and the luxury expected from a modern hypercar.
Beneath the artistic details lies one of the greatest engines in automotive history. The W16 Mistral is powered by Bugatti’s quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 producing 1,600 PS, making it the final open-top model to feature the legendary sixteen-cylinder powerplant before the company transitions to its new hybrid V16 era. With production already limited to just 99 Mistrals, the one-off Blanc Éternel occupies an even more exclusive place in Bugatti’s history.
Subtle details, including Blanc Éternel lettering beneath the active rear wing, complete a hypercar that feels equally at home on a concours lawn or inside an art gallery. More than a celebration of exclusivity, the W16 Mistral Blanc Éternel serves as a fitting farewell to Bugatti’s legendary W16, combining timeless craftsmanship, modern digital design, and extraordinary engineering in a single unforgettable creation.
