Artificial intelligence has firmly established itself in our reality. And the object generated by it, although becoming familiar, is still surprising. Like Mathieu Stern’s AI-Generated Porcelain Cameras or Mersmerizing AI Generated Hearts by Andrejs Pidjass. And then came the turn of the sculptures. Hajar Ali used Midjourney to create these mind-blowing sculptures.

Waking up in a luxury safari resort in the Serengeti, I part the automatic curtains and see the Savannah in its full glory through the floor to ceiling wraparound windows. Most of us experience nature guided by the voice of David Attenborough and remote places through National Geographic Channel. Events like 9/11 that leave a generational imprint are memorialised in our collective consciousness through videos of the towers crumbling. Covid lockdowns barred travel and current talk about the metaverse and AI art have brought us full on into the society of the hyperreal.”

they aren’t sculptures, they are 3D generated images that appear in a 3dimensional plane. I’m not sure I also agree that ‘we’ experience life through a lens or that it’s a mediated reality. Reality has always been mediated in some form. Either way, I’m not sure what the purpose of this statement add; is it embracing the artifice by going full on fantasy screen, or is it giving in and saying, well I’ll just make up imaginary images?
