Diamond Atelier has taken a radically different approach to the custom motorcycle with its latest creation, the DA#22 ULTRON. Unveiled at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the road-legal prototype looks less like a modified production bike and more like a machine that escaped from a futuristic movie.
The Munich-based workshop designed the motorcycle from the ground up, developing the bodywork before deciding how to package the mechanical components underneath. The result is an extremely compact silhouette with hidden electronics, a cockpit tucked beneath glass, a tank that visually disappears into the body, and a remarkably short tail that appears to float above the rear wheel.
More than 800 hours went into shaping the aluminum bodywork by hand. The complex curves and sharp transitions give the DA#22 an almost sculptural appearance, while future versions of the planned ultra-limited series are expected to use carbon fiber instead.
Beneath the futuristic exterior is a KTM LC8 V-twin engine derived from the 1290 Super Duke, producing more than 205 horsepower. The bike also features a Wilbers TYPE 46 RR front fork inspired by World Superbike technology and a bespoke rear shock developed specifically for the project.
The DA#22 becomes even more unusual after dark. Its bodywork uses a specially developed electroluminescent paint that glows from within when electrically activated. Diamond Atelier says only one liter of the unique red formula was produced, and the entire amount was used on this single motorcycle. There is also a real diamond set into the 3D-printed titanium upper triple clamp, adding an appropriately extravagant finishing touch.
The DA#22 is currently a one-off prototype and the starting point for what Diamond Atelier describes as an ultra-limited hyperbike series. Whether it truly deserves to create a new category is open to debate, but one thing is certain. With its hand-shaped aluminum body, 205-plus horsepower, glowing paint, and extraordinary attention to detail, the DA#22 is unlike almost any motorcycle currently on the road.
