Cabasse, the renowned French audio manufacturer, has unveiled its latest flagship speaker system, the LA SPHERE EVO, to commemorate its 75th anniversary. This new model builds upon the legacy of the original La Sphère introduced in 2006, offering a more compact and refined design while incorporating advanced technology.
Each LA SPHERE EVO speaker houses four built-in amplifiers, delivering a total of 10,200 watts RMS. This immense power enables the system to achieve sound pressure levels up to 127 dB, covering a frequency range from 14 Hz to 27,000 Hz . The speaker’s core features the TCA tri-coaxial driver system, developed in-house at Cabasse’s facility in Brest, France. This system handles high, mid, and low-mid frequencies with diaphragms made from aramid fiber, ensuring optimal stiffness, lightness, and damping for exceptional tonal accuracy. Additionally, dual 30 cm HELD woofers in a push-push configuration deliver robust and controlled bass, effectively canceling cabinet vibrations to maintain precision across all listening levels.
The LA SPHERE EVO integrates all essential components, including amplification, DSP, DACs, and streaming capabilities, within a sleek 7 cm base, eliminating the need for external equipment and simplifying setup. The system offers automatic room calibration, Roon readiness, and seamless integration into Cabasse’s multiroom ecosystem via the StreamCONTROL app .
Design-wise, the EVO maintains the original’s distinctive orb shape but has been thoughtfully downsized to 1.34 meters in height and 60 kg in weight, making it more manageable without sacrificing performance. The central stand has been replaced with a sculpted base inspired by Lissajous curves, crafted in mirror-polished chrome to conceal wiring elegantly. Additionally, the new 3D-printed grilles feature wave-like patterns that offer a glimpse of the advanced driver technology within, blending aesthetic appeal with functional design.
Priced at $135,000, the Cabasse LA SPHERE EVO is scheduled for release in Q3 2025. Each unit is built in-house in France and includes an individually numbered anniversary plaque, celebrating the brand’s commitment to innovation and excellence in high-end audio.
