Ferrari’s history is filled with legendary victories, but some triumphs become special because of how long they take to arrive. The 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans was one of those moments. After 58 years without an overall victory at the iconic endurance race, Ferrari returned to the top with the 499P Hypercar, creating one of the most memorable chapters in the company’s modern racing history.

To celebrate that achievement, Thrustmaster has created the Ferrari 499P Centenary Winner Edition, a full-scale replica of the steering wheel used by the Le Mans-winning prototype. Developed together with Ferrari and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the limited-edition sim racing wheel is designed to be both a high-end racing accessory and a collector’s piece.

Only 499 individually numbered units will be produced, matching the name of Ferrari’s winning Hypercar. The attention to detail goes far beyond the Ferrari branding. The wheel features a 4.3-inch central display capable of showing up to 140 telemetry parameters, while integrated LEDs replicate the RPM indicators and flag signals found on the real 499P dashboard.

The layout follows the logic of a professional endurance racing machine. A Ferrari yellow engine map selector with the iconic Prancing Horse emblem sits at the center, surrounded by seven programmable encoders that allow drivers to adjust important settings such as brake balance, fuel strategy, and traction control without taking their hands away from the wheel.

The construction is equally impressive. The rear of the wheel features a hand-applied carbon fiber backplate, while the paddle system mirrors the real race car with six controls, including two carbon fiber gear shifters and four metal paddles. The mechanical resistance of the controls is designed to deliver a more authentic racing feel compared with conventional gaming wheels. At 5.5 kilograms, the unit has the weight and presence of professional motorsport equipment.

Thrustmaster has also treated the product as a display collectible. Every wheel comes with a steel stand engraved with Ferrari 499P and Le Mans Centenary branding, allowing owners to showcase it when it is not being used on a simulator. The package also includes two A3 posters, including a commemorative Le Mans print with gold foil details and a technical blueprint of the wheel, as well as a copy of Le Mans Ultimate for digital endurance racing.

Priced at €851, the Ferrari 499P Centenary Winner Edition is not designed for casual players looking for their first racing accessory. It is aimed at Ferrari enthusiasts, serious sim racers, and collectors who appreciate the connection between virtual competition and real motorsport history.

The timing of the release also feels appropriate. Ferrari has recently shown that long waits can eventually end with unforgettable victories. The 499P brought the company back to glory at Le Mans, and the new steering wheel preserves that achievement in a form fans can experience every day. It is not just a piece of racing hardware, but a tribute to one of Ferrari’s most important modern comebacks.
