Bandit9 has unveiled the (RED)800, a limited-edition custom motorcycle that combines sculptural metalwork, Italian engineering, and a charitable mission. Created by the Vietnam-based design studio in collaboration with (RED), the organization known for funding programs that fight AIDS and other preventable diseases, the bike transforms a Ducati-powered machine into something closer to a piece of moving art.

The first thing that catches the eye is the extraordinary bodywork. Its finish begins with a rich Racing Red at the front before gradually fading into raw, hand-brushed aluminum toward the rear. There is no sharp dividing line between the two surfaces, creating the impression that the color dissolves directly into the metal. Each motorcycle is painted by hand, so every example will have its own subtle variations.

Bandit9 founder Daryl Villanueva has built a reputation for unconventional motorcycle designs that blur the line between transportation and sculpture. The (RED)800 continues that approach with bodywork shaped into a flowing, almost seamless form. The exposed mechanical components beneath the aluminum shell provide a contrast to the smooth upper surfaces, while a striking red light strip runs from beneath the saddle toward the rear suspension. Spoked wheels, low-profile tires, rear-set foot controls, and low handlebars complete the aggressive silhouette.

Beneath the distinctive exterior sits an 821cc Ducati Testastretta L-twin engine producing 110 horsepower and 65.8 lb-ft of torque. The motorcycle can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in a claimed 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of approximately 125 mph. Its custom tubular steel trellis frame incorporates cast aluminum sections, while 43mm Sachs front forks and an adjustable Sachs rear shock handle suspension duties. Brembo monobloc radial calipers and ABS provide the stopping power.

Despite its elaborate appearance, the (RED)800 is designed to be a functional performance motorcycle rather than a static showpiece. It weighs approximately 386 pounds dry, giving its V-twin plenty of power to work with. The combination of established Ducati engineering and Bandit9’s handcrafted construction gives the bike a distinctive identity without relying on an entirely bespoke engine.

The charitable element makes this project particularly unusual. Only nine examples will be produced, each priced at $49,900. Bandit9 has committed $14,000 from every motorcycle sold to (RED), meaning a complete sellout would generate $126,000 for healthcare initiatives supporting communities in need.

Each bike is made to order, with an estimated production and delivery lead time of eight to twelve months. That exclusivity, combined with the hand-finished bodywork, makes the (RED)800 a collector’s piece with a purpose beyond its performance and appearance.

Bandit9 has created a motorcycle that stands apart through both design and intent. The transition from vivid red paint to bare aluminum gives it an unmistakable visual signature, while the Ducati powertrain ensures there is substance beneath the sculpture. With just nine examples planned, the (RED)800 offers a rare combination of custom craftsmanship, performance engineering, and a contribution to a meaningful cause.
