Imagine a vehicle so unique, so tailored to the individual, that it could only be described as the automotive twin of its owner. This is the essence of the Sweptail – a car that mirrors the exceptional taste of a customer who doesn’t just buy off the lot but inspires the lot to be created. Giles Taylor, the maestro of Rolls-Royce design at the time, likened the Sweptail to the grandeur of haute couture. And rightly so, for this is a car that was woven from the very fabric of the customer’s vision, a dream translated into metal, leather, and glass.

The genesis of the Sweptail’s journey began in 2013, when a connoisseur of super-yachts and aircraft presented Rolls-Royce with a challenge: to build a motor car reminiscent of the floating palaces from the bygone era of the ’20s and ’30s. Rolls-Royce accepted, embarking on a journey of collaboration that would culminate in a car as rare as a Stradivarius violin.

The Sweptail’s most striking feature, its uninterrupted glass roof, is a marvel that pays tribute to the client’s nautical passions, evoking the sleekness of a yacht gliding through the water. The roof cascades down the back in a graceful sweep, lending the car its name and its unforgettable profile. It’s a testament to the brand’s commitment to creating a sanctuary of calm and elegance for the driver.

At the front, the Sweptail presents a face only Rolls-Royce could forge. The grille, the largest of any modern-era Rolls and painstakingly crafted from a single piece of aluminum, gleams with the intensity of a thousand suns caught in its reflection. It’s a bold statement, one that announces the car’s presence with a whisper rather than a shout.

Moving to the rear, the car’s namesake “swept-tail” concludes the vehicle’s silhouette with a flourish, its design echoing the lines of the classic racing yachts that slice through the ocean’s surface with an effortless grace. Replacing the back seat is a wooden mid-shelf, glowing with a soft light – a serene alcove for the treasures one might find indispensable on a journey.

  1. That’s about as expensive as one F1 car, which those drivers just regularly wreck

    1. Its not even really as expensive as f1 car.. The f1 cars true prize is actually kept secret to avoid government taxation and unnecessary attraction and distraction.. It’s only the engine that’s about 13million or more

      1. Wrong. Dead wrong. You cannot hide the price / cost from The American Internal Revenue Service. Do you even try that would get you laughed out of court and straight into a jail cell. Anybody with common sense knows this, or anybody else that’s tried to hide the cost of anything.

“ F1 has been using the same 1600cc V6 turbocharged engines (or Power Units) since 2014. These engines have been developed to maximise performance, the rules surrounding their technical specification have remained predominantly the same.
Made up of six components, the PUs feature an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE)

Turbocharger (TC), Motor Generator Unit-Kinetic (MGU-K), Motor Generator Unit-Heat (MGU-H), the Energy Store i.e. batteries (ES) and Control Electronics (CE).
PS: “The regulations call for a customer to be supplied at €12m (£10.34m). The reality is that no one pays just this for their engines, because of all the other bits and pieces that come into it.

“Customers are paying something in the region of €15m (£12.92m) for one engine.”
        Cost: $18.32m (£12.92m)
