Porsche concept car

Company Porsche represented concept sports car 918 Spyder at Motor Show in Geneva. The car is built on the platform of a racing Porsche RS Spider and is powered by both a 500-horsepower V8 and a pair of electric motors. The E-Drive mode is for running the car under electric power alone, with a range of up to 25 km or 16 miles. Battery power unit can be recharged from household electrical outlets. The concept can theoretically reach 62 mph in 3.2 seconds and nip 198 mph on the high end. Maximum speed is 320 kilometers per hour. A high-tech exterior of lightweight materials is complemented by the latest in Porsche interior design and features, indicating the car is in fact headed down a production path despite its current concept-car status.   1. Well I have always loved Porsche cars.
    I thought this new Porsche was great till it said something about it runs more on electricity than gasoline.
    I don’t like the conversion from gas to electric stuff.
    I prefer stuff to be completely gasoline fuel.
    I understand why companies are coming out with these types of cars, but I think the planet has enough trees to filter the polution out of the air if people would stop cutting down rain forests.

    1. If you had been paying any attention to motorsport you would have known that the Porsche 911 GT3R Hybrid has completely dominated every race it’s participated in.

      The concept is using electric motors and/or flywheels to boost the total power output. The main power in both the GT3R Hybrid and the 918 come from the petrol engine.

  2. Yeah, so it’s a Porsche – too bad creativity is dead – it looks a lot like a Lotus to me…
