Hamilton introduced a contemporary throwback version of the 1957 Electric Ventura – the world’s first electric watch. The Ventura Elvis80 Skeleton Automatic comes in the collection’s unmistakable triangular-shaped case, available in stainless steel with either a PVD rose gold or PVD black plating. With measurements of 42.5 mm by 44.6 mm and a combined crystal and case thickness of 12.33 mm – it should fit many wrist sizes well despite the uncommon shape.
A black skeletonized dial, in the shape of lightning bolts, with an electric lightbulb filament crossing the center of the dial horizontally, partially cover the movement below. Despite the theme referencing a 1957 Electric Ventura design — instead of an electric-powered movement, the movement is actually an automatic mechanical caliber, designed by ETA for Hamilton, with an 80-hour power reserve.
A box-type triangle-shaped sapphire crystal protects the dial of the Ventura Elvis80 Skeleton Automatic. Water-resistance is 50 meters. A black rubber strap finishes off both versions. The name is an homage to Elvis Presley, one of the Ventura’s biggest fans. Retail is $1,795 but you can always check a list of the best watches under $1000.
