Take a look at the stunning packaging design for Tokaji wine bottle created by Szabolcs Moldovan, Romania. “All elements of the packaging are hand carved by an artist, further giving it value. This would be possible due to the fact that the aim of the product is not mass production. Materials used are wood and metal/precious metals. The wood wine holder symbolizes a cathedral that protects the wine, and even after the wine is consumed, the packaging can be reused as an artwork on a shelf or table, while the label that contains precious metals can be taken off the bottle and hanged on the wall of wine cellars, to further push the idea of reusable packaging, packaging that has value, and should not be thrown away or discarded. With all the work that goes into packaging these days, it is still heartbreaking to see that they end up in the trash.”

Grandfather clocks are a great classic time piece to have in your traditional home, but what to do if you have a more contemporary or eclectic style? Boca Do Lobo has created Time Goes By – a beautifully balanced mixture of a take on the original and a newer form of heirlooms. “Novel yet with a classic appeal this piece is a dynamic twist on the time-honored grandfather clock. A hand carved mahogany framed digital clock with a cut stainless steel pendulum is encased in a smoked glass box supported by an ornate hand carved mahogany base covered in silver leaf and finished with a combination of high gloss amethyst and smoked black translucent varnish.” Take a look!
Montblanc’s latest Great Character edition pays homage to the genius Leonardo da Vinci. The writing instrument is inspired by his extraordinary inventions and his fascination with the study of flying. Every detail of the design directly reflects the original sketches of flying machines and the mechanical constructions created by Leonardo da Vinci. The wedge shapes are reminiscent of his method to connect mechanical parts to one another. The design of a wing engraved on the section and the bat on the nib pay homage to his study on the characteristics of flying animals, while the mirror on top of the cap, which reveals the Montblanc emblem, is a reference to his research in the field of optics. This edition, which honors one of the greatest pioneers of science, will be available in November at a MSRP of €2830.
The following flexible shelving system for your walls called Chuck easily adapts to your individual storage needs. Designed by Natascha Harra-Frischkorn of hafriko, Chuck is made of flexible wooden planks that adjust to the books and objects it displays. The design is made up of six wooden planks and two stainless steel brackets that keep the planks in place. Each piece of wood can be individually adjusted as you wish so you can display your favorite stuff how you want. Depending on the amount of objects placed on each shelf, the planks bow out and become a different shape.
Nocturnal animals hover, awake and at the ready, just above the glowing moon-like surface of Haoshi Design’s Moon Clock. “When the night falls, in the darkness of quiet and still, the nocturnal animals are exulting in exploring this world. The moonlight energizes the animals, and the moon is the faith they rely on.” says Haoshi Design. The series, made of resin, includes a braying wolf, an owl, a crow and a cat. “The story of them is quietly running on this tranquil land. Are you those people who always find inspiration at night? The later at night it gets, the more ideas you have? If you are this kind of nocturnal animal, let Haoshi Moon Clock warm you up at every single night.” A layer of Fluorescent Whitening Agent has been applied to the surface of the clock, exposed to daylight, “it will generate a shimmer in the dark… like the moon is giving a warm hug to those nocturnal animals.”
Frank Gehry is one of America’s best known architects. His award winning designs can be found around the world and have gained him the honor of being called the most significant American architect of our generation. Frank Gehry has a another passion, Fish. Over 25 years ago when Frank was working on a project for Formica, he shattered a sheet of ColorCore laminate. Instead of fretting over the damage, Frank’s creative mind kicked into high gear seeing the shards of colorful plastic as fish scales. Soon he had created a series of Fish Lamps by using metal framework and the ColorCore shards that are treasured works of art traveling from museum to museum. Recently, the 80+ year old architect created a new series of Fish Lamps, once again using ColorCore from Formica. Take a look at his new pieces.

Sugar Skull Spoons is a new project on Kickstarter. Stainless Steel spoons that gently remind you sugar is evil each time you make a tea or coffee. “Sugar Skull Spoon, born from the happy realisation that with a simple twist, the humble tea spoon could become the perfect home accessory for fans of the macabre (and fans of hot drinks!).
