Unique Wooden Letters Decor
Young Italian architects Giulia Bortolotti and Lucio Leone, who are based in New York City, shared their latest project called Wooden Letters, which consists of an alphabet of letters that can have everyday applications. For example, this set of B-O-O-K is intended to serve as book storage. The letters are handcrafted creations by skilled woodworker artisans using water-based paint and sealers. “Koo Koo” Mailbox by Playso
Bill Playso, the head of the Australian lifestyle brand Playso, designed the Koo Koo mailbox in a stylized shape of a bird to bring some fun to something that’s normally relegated to simply functional. Working with industrial designer Justin Hutchinson, the avian themed mail holder came to life, making it designed and manufactured in their homeland of Australia. I love how the wing is open to hold magazines and larger mail. Have fun! Octopus Shaped CIRRATA Lamp
Unusually-shaped sea creature Cirrata, a suborder of octopuses, was a source of inspiration for designer Markus Johansson. His glowing, delicately formed lamp is meant to light up the “darkness of the ocean.” The tentacle-like base creates the illusion that the fixture is floating across the surface it sits on, or the ocean floor where the idea was born. Who would have thought this lamp was made from Corian, that solid surface material most often used for kitchen and bathroom countertops. Take a look! Solar Energy Powered Socket

Simple in design, the plug just attaches to any window and does its job intuitively. At the moment it’s just a concept and we have to wait till this extremely useful device will be mass produced. Csetvei Winery Hrsz. 737 Wine Label Design
April 22nd in: Industrial Design, Packaging Design |
Take a look at the creative packaging design by Kira Koroknai, Budapest . As a starting point, Kira’s goal was to create a minimalistic and eye-catching design which fits to the extant identity of Csetvei Winery. "With the black and white pattern, I wanted to reflect on the wine’s characteristic and full-bodied taste. The other aspect of the designing was to create the unity of the label and the bottle.I wanted the bottle design to be a part of the treat of drinking wine, that’s why i chose the full bottle design instead of a classic label form. This way, the bottle also becomes a part of enjoying the wine. It creates a personal experience as the drinker holds and turn the bottle around while having a chat."
